Service Description

Experience an authentic journey that connects you with nature and the ancestral cultural heritage of Costa Rica’s Caribbean region. This tour invites you to discover the worldview of the Bribri Indigenous people, where traditions, knowledge, and respect for nature continue to be passed down through generations. The adventure begins at a local farm within the Bribri Indigenous Reserve, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. A local family will warmly welcome you and share their knowledge of medicinal plants, traditional practices, and sustainable ways of life. Through their stories and demonstrations, you will discover how ancestral knowledge continues to shape the relationship between the Bribri people and their natural surroundings. As part of the experience, you will learn about the traditional process of making chocolate, one of the most important elements of Bribri culture. Cacao is more than a food; it has deep spiritual significance and has traditionally been used in purification rituals and natural medicine. You will have the opportunity to follow the process from cacao bean to finished chocolate while learning about its cultural importance and role in everyday life. You will also learn about the collection of natural fibers and traditional dyeing techniques used to create handmade crafts that are an important part of Bribri cultural identity. The experience continues with a visit to a beautiful natural waterfall hidden in the rainforest. Here, you can take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the tropical forest. The waterfall is a perfect place to cool off, relax, and connect with nature. Fresh seasonal tropical fruit will also be served as a refreshing snack during this part of the experience. The tour concludes at a local restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional Caribbean cuisine and complete the day with an authentic taste of the region.
