Cahuita National Park Snorkeling & Hiking Tour Discover one of the most complete nature experiences on Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast with a tour that combines snorkeling, wildlife, rainforest, and Caribbean culture in the spectacular Cahuita National Park. The adventure begins with a small-group boat trip, with a maximum of 15 participants, accompanied by an experienced captain and specialized guide. For approximately two hours, you will explore the waters of Cahuita’s coral reef, one of the most important coral ecosystems in Costa Rica. The reef is home to an extraordinary variety of marine life, including more than 35 species of coral and according to 120 species of tropical fish. Depending on sea conditions and wildlife activity, you may encounter sea turtles, moray eels, nurse sharks, lobsters, shrimp, and many other fascinating marine species. All snorkeling equipment is provided, so you can simply relax and enjoy exploring this underwater world. After snorkeling, we take a break with fresh seasonal tropical fruits, giving you time to refresh and recharge before continuing with the second part of the adventure. The tour then continues with a guided 3.5 km hike from Punta Cahuita to the town of Cahuita. As you walk through the rainforest, your guide will interpret the natural environment and help you discover the incredible biodiversity of Costa Rica’s Caribbean lowlands. Along the trail, you may have the opportunity to see white-faced capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, sloths, anteaters, armadillos, raccoons, snakes, and a variety of tropical birds. The forest itself is equally fascinating, with opportunities to observe Morpho butterflies, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, medicinal plants, and other tropical species. This experience allows you to discover Cahuita National Park both above and below the water, combining its marine and terrestrial ecosystems in one unforgettable adventure. To help protect the coral reef, sunscreen is not permitted during the snorkeling activity. A shirt or rash guard must be worn instead.
